Course Objectives The primary objective is to provide students with the tools to understand the importance of the fundamentals of finance, financial statements and analysis, cash flow statement, and time value of money. In addition, it provides student to understand the management of working capital so that you can effectively manage current assets and decide whether to finance the firm’s funds requirements aggressively or conservatively.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Give information about the fundamentals of finance, legal forms of business organizations and the goal of the firm.
  • Prepare financial statements and use ratios to analyze a firm’s profitability.
  • Demonstrate the financial planning process by forming cash flow table, the pro forma income statement and pro forma balance sheet.
  • Understand the preparation, evaluation and the use of cash budget.
  • Calculate future value and present value of financial assets.
  • Analyze working capital management and calculate net working capital.
Course Description Topics covered are: introduction to finance, finance environment and participants in this environment, what the business finance deals with, financial statements and analysis, cash budgeting, and time value of money.
